Our October meeting's featured guest speaker, Michael “Mike” Havel ’76, will share the fascinating story behind the creation of the iconic 12-foot Aggie Ring at the Haynes Ring Plaza of the Clayton W. Williams, Jr. Alumni Center. Mike conceived the idea for the Ring and served as project manager for its development. His presentation offers a behind-the-scenes look at how this beloved symbol of the Aggie Spirit became a reality.

 

 

A dedicated Texas Aggie, Mike serves as a Class Agent for the Class of 1976 and was a member of The Association of Former Students’ Board of Directors from 2003 to 2006. During his distinguished business career, he owned and managed four manufacturing and distribution companies before retiring in 2023. He is an Aggie 100 Award recipient and, in 2023, received the Distinguished Alumnus Award—the highest honor bestowed upon a former student of Texas A&M University.
